so i had already anticipated that this weekend was already set up for spectacularity because of the NO WORK ON MONDAY deal... but! it ended up being quite wondermous and even more awesome'er than i had expected. i mean.. nothing crazy happened. i actually didn't even have any alcohol all weekend (with the exception of a few sips of icky frozen pre-made margarita on saturday, at my show in irvine), and just found the highlights of the weekend to be spending much-needed time with my family.
throw in a couple of polynesian shows too (one on saturday, one on sunday), and it was just jolly good fun.. even despite being sick all weekend (i'm still fightin it now.. my voice cracks about 97% of the time when i'm answering the phones here at work).
so let's go in chronological order-
FRIDAY:
i got crazy make-up sleep on friday night, where i slept from 4pm almost completely straight through til 10am on saturday. only got out of bed once to pee, otherwise just stayed in bed and started off my sick weekend in bed. ended up missing out on the friday night rush event of movie night (bahhh sorry girls!) AND didn't make it in to volunteer at ALL for E Hula Mau, when i was supposed to be there on Friday and Saturday... sigh.
SATURDAY:
like i said, woke up at 10am'ish... feeling like total utter CRAP. it was a mixture of too much sleep plus being totally sick and i had this monster headache and yea. bleh! i just vegged at home, watching tv and finally seeing Sweeney Todd (cool movie), eating soup and cooking bacon & eggs for myself... just relaxed until my irvine show, attempted to be pretty and pretend that i wasn't feeling like total crap (i think i pulled it off okay haha)... then went back home to pack for the remainder of the labor day weekend & just chill in my room.
SUNDAY:
started off with polynesian rehearsal, where we were basically auditioning for our spots for the upcoming mandatory all-group show. ! just my luck that we'd be doing this when i'm totally flippin sick! lol. i got stuck in the back for the first two opening numbers, but that's okay.. cuz supposedly, i'll be in all of tawny's pictures

so that works out fine! hahahaha. oh man. alewa was like, "jamie! move those hips girl!!" and i was like "uhhh i'm tryinnnnn..." lol. i've still got some time left til that performance, in which i can do some extra practicing at home and work on workin' it harder

[more SUNDAY] right after rehearsal i headed straight to my mom's for the annual labor day weekend block partay. unfortunately, i could not join in on the awesome beer-drinkage, or encourage the mixin of mojitos, cuz my under-the-weather'ness just wasn't permitting me to feel very in the normal alcoholic mood. but i guess that's a good thing.. had a totally sober fun weekend~! we ATE TONS of DELICIOUS food - steak, salad, potato salad, snausages (yes, say it with me.. 'snah-suh-juhz' lol), fresh-made guacamole... oh man. just food food food gallore. i seriously ate to the point of burstage hahahhaa

then took my sweet-ass time gettin pretty'ed up for my next show, which was in inglewood and not too far from my mom's (what a
fun show!!)... after the show, headed back to mom's... watched the newest futurama movie The Beast of a Thousand Backs with kenny, and knocked the f out.
MONDAY:
-dim sum with mom, kenny, & perry in chinatown. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM. omfg.. chinatown dim sum will forever be my favorite, as it tastes closest to what i call "childhood dimsum", which is what i compare ALL OTHER DIM SUM to lol. so yea... chinatown dim sum = money!
-car washing (washed mom's, kenny's, and my car. cherry's lookin miiiighty shiny!!)
-sitting in the driveway, soakin in some sun.. "mommy storybook time" lol
-dinner & watching old videos: nic when he was 1-2 years old, and seeing a little video of my dad. just hearing his voice as he was taping everything.. back in like 1999-2001, my dad taped all sorts of stuff like he'd tape a bunch of flowers from like 10 different angles since he thought it was differently beautiful in each way. great memories.. like the time he and i went to knott's berry farm on the "shopper" pass, but we went on rides instead of just shopping. i cried a little when we watched the tapes, but i tried not to show my mom cuz i didn't want her to get sad too... i really want to watch more of our old tapes. there's all the family moments, plus kenny & me singing with Rainbow Riders, and even a bunch of horrendous old school CADC performances from before we became an award-winning team. lol. good times, good times..
-ROCK BAND at kenny's house: i got to hear Nic sing some songs! so cuuuuuute! he does mississippi queen really rad.
i dunno.. my post was looking extremely boring. so i just paraphrased it a bit. the highlights of the weekend were definitely when we sat there and watched old vids, and when my mom, kenny, and i just sat out in mom's driveway and hung out together. just a few pics to add sometime later, since my camera battery died and i wasn't able to be my normal asian paparazzi self. oh wells.
i can add some pics from the weekend before tooooooooo.. which was my LEGENDARY weekend (How I Met Your Mother reference).. but i don't have time to write much about it. though i'm sure that looking at pictures is better than reading anyway.
The Legen*wait for it*
